Maison Margiela Is Turning the Tabi Into a Summer-Ready Mule
The split-toe silhouette gets a slip-on makeover.
Maison Margiela is transforming its cult-classic footwear silhouette into a warm-weather staple with the launch of the Tabi Daily Mule. The French fashion house is giving its famous split-toe shape a breezy makeover, creating a low-key slip-on option that helps you survive the summer heat without sacrificing your fashion girlie style credentials.
This new design strips away the traditional heel counter to offer a casual look that slides on instantly. Constructed from soft calf leather, the upper section retains the sharp lines and split toe that made the original silhouette a piece of fashion history. For this seasonal release, the brand is offering the footwear in two neutral colorways: “Camel” and “Sand.”
Every pair features matching tonal stitching and a stripped-back, minimalist finish that stays true to the label’s signature Belgian design roots. It is a simplified, accessible entry point into the Margiela universe, subverting the house’s avant-garde heritage into something you can easily wear to the supermarket and to the pub.
The shoe is now available via the Maison Margiela website.
