Cardi B Promises To Pay For the Bronx Fire Victims' Funerals

The Bronx native gives back.

Never one to shy away from speaking her mind or standing her ground, rapper Cardi B will be paying for the Bronx Fire victims’ funerals.

The deadly fire claimed the lives of 19 people last Sunday morning, sparking outrage over the borough’s historic mistreatment, as well as tenant rights. According to a statement from Mayor Eric Adam’s office, the Bronx native will be offering financial aid to the families affected by the horrific event.

“The resilience of this city reflects everyday New Yorkers who never turn their back on one another. We are grateful for Cardi B, a real superstar on and off the mic, for granting some critical financial relief to families of the victims,” said Mayor Adams.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper has always been proud of her roots, saying, “I’m extremely proud to be from the Bronx and I have lots of family and friends who live and work there still. So, when I heard about the fire and all of the victims, I knew I needed to do something to help.”

The tragedy has been labeled as one of New York’s most fatal fires in recent times.
