Peacock's Trailer for 'Bel-Air' Shows the Origin Story of Will Before the Banks Family
The gritty ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ reboot premieres on Super Bowl Sunday.
Peacock has released the official trailer for Bel-Air, AKA the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot.
Unlike the original series starring Will Smith, the new spin-off has a much more serious and dramatic tone. However, you can still expect the same characters from the ’90s sitcom to be featured on the show. The only difference is they are played by other actors.
“Set in modern-day America, Peacock’s new one-hour drama series Bel-Air imagines the beloved sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air through a new, dramatic take on Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air,” reads an official synopsis. “As these two worlds collide, Will reckons with the power of second chances while navigating the conflicts, emotions and biases of a world far different from the only one he’s ever known.”
In the trailer, Will (Jabari Banks) is seen arriving to his new Bel-Air home where he is welcomed by the Banks family: Uncle Phil (Adrian Holmes), Aunt Vivian (Cassandra Freeman), Hilary (Coco Jones), Ashley (Akira Akbar) and Geoffrey (Jimmy Akingbola). Jazz (Jordan L. Jones) and Lisa (Simone Joy Jones) will also be partake in the new series.
Bel-Air premieres on Peacock on February 13 with its first three episodes followed by subsequent episodes released each week. Watch the trailer above.
