Gucci x Superplastic Announce Collaboration Dubbed "SUPERGUCCI"
Comprised of NFTs, ceramic sculptures and more.
After teasing their team-up earlier this month, Gucci and Superplastic have now unveiled more details on their joint project. As anticipated, this will mark the luxury house’s expansion into the world of NFTs and the metaverse, joining names like adidas Originals, JW Anderson and Balenciaga.
Titled “SUPERGUCCI,” the collaboration will arrive in three parts. The partnership kicks off with 10 exclusive NFT pieces, which are each accompanied by a ceramic sculpture. In the sneak peeks seen above, the artworks take inspiration from Gucci’s signature design motifs that are reinterpreted by Superplastic’s virtual influencers Guggimon and Janky. The release additionally involves Gucci Vault, the luxury brand’s online experimental store, which will be joining the metaverse with a special sale.
On top of the metaverse drop, Vault is launching vintage pieces from Gucci’s archive that are restored and arrive in unique packaging.
