Washing away the January blues, Samsøe & Samsøe has unveiled its effervescent Spring/Summer 2022 collection, “Chase the Sun.”
Inspired by the carefree ’70s and vibrant ’80s, the Scandinavian label marries nostalgic fabrics with contemporary silhouettes and patterns to create a fresh and joyful capsule that invigorates the senses. The infectiously optimistic range of garments is designed to evoke a sense of adventure and play amidst a chaotic world.
“The collection for me is all about explorations, travels and freedom. The freedom we’ve all missed the past year and the travels we will be able to do again so soon,” says Gitte Wetter, Intermediate Head of Design in a press release. “The new relationships we will gain and the chasing of newness we’ve all longed for! I really wanted to bring across the sense of positivity and the yearning for summer, and with the colors and silhouettes of this collection, I believe we achieved that.”
Highlights in the collection include a bold, bright blue monochrome suit, perfect for turning heads or adding a pop of color to Zoom calls. Supple brown leather appears on sensual split hem skirts and paperbag waist trousers, while dizzying floral prints add a touch of excitement to the range’s strappy swimsuits and vintage-inspired frocks. The SS22 line’s bright tropical hues of turquoise, citrusy lime green and uber-saturated fuchsia spark visual joy, while complementing more subdued shades of rich brown, beige and soft blues.
Samsøe & Samsøe’s SS22 capsule is constructed from 80% responsibly sourced materials. The brand hopes to continue its mission of sustainable fashion by increasing the amount to 100% by 2024.
