Supreme Expected To Open a New Store in Gangnam, Seoul

The streetwear label is currently working on receiving trademark rights in the country.

UPDATE (February 13, 2023): Supreme has been rumored to open a new store in Seoul, South Korea for a while now, with the news first surfacing back in October 2022. Industry insiders are now claiming that the streetwear brand has finalized a location and opening date for the newest store, which will mark its second country in Asia.

As of now, trademark applications from Supreme’s parent company VF Corporation have been delayed due to objections. If the application goes through, the New York imprint is expected to open a new location in the Gangnam district this summer, marking its 15th store. South Korea would be the seventh country after Italy, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States.

ORIGINAL STORY (October 10, 2022): With 14 stores across the world as of writing, Supreme could potentially be opening a new store in Seoul, South Korea. If confirmed, this would mark the streetwear brand’s 15th store worldwide and the second country in Asia following Japan.

While the New York imprint has yet to make an official announcement, the Lee International Patent Law Firm has filed a trademark application that was announced on September 2, 2022. Ever since the rumors surfaced, media outlets have been predicting where Supreme would open its next store. Speculations include areas like Seongsu, which will see the opening of a new space dubbed Loop Station in May 2023. Other popular names that have come up are Cheongdam and Hannam.

Meanwhile, streetwear insider @dropsbyjay has suggested Supreme might open its new store in the Gangnam district in the Spring/Summer 2023 season.

Stay tuned as we learn more about the potential opening of a Supreme Seoul store.
