MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon's Collab Gets Official Release Date

MM6 Maison Margiela has teamed up with Salomon to officially unveil their capsule collaboration, first seen on the Maison Margiela Fall/Winter 2023 runway show.
Inspired by the everyday, the collaboration sees both brands celebrating “the unsung beauty of quotidian dressing,” according to the press release. Footwear makes up the first iteration of the collection, offering an irreverent take on the outdoor apparel label’s performance-oriented design.
Consisting of two signature silhouettes, the Cross Low and Cross High, the capsule merges unconventional design with bold aesthetics. First up, is the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross Low, featuring a reinterpreted lug from Salomon’s typical Speedcross pattern and an inner mesh slip-on shoe, in a nod to the brand’s trail running heritage. Available in three sporty tricolor hues, the new sneaker comes in black and white, red and pink and khaki and green.
Next up is the MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon Cross High, featuring the same redesigned lug and block heel as the Low, but designed in a high-top silhouette. Complete with a snug suede and ripstop upper, the shoe boasts Salomon’s Sensifit quick-lace technology for maximal stability and support. The high-top sneaker is available in two core colorways of black and white and red.
On the collaboration, the MM6 Maison Margiela design team explains in a statement, “Our motivation was to create a shoe that could easily transition between cityscapes and the great outdoors — a single product that both maintained Salomon’s high-performance specifications and also resonated with MM6 Maison Margiela’s contemporary aesthetic. The core idea, though, was the same as it always is for us. Our goal was to push Salomon’s performance-driven designs to such an extreme that they seamlessly integrated into the MM6 Maison Margiela wardrobe.”
The MM6 Maison Margiela x Salomon capsule will be available from November 11th on the MM6 Maison Margiela website alongside in selected retailers.
