"Revenge Makeup" Is TikTok’s Ultimate Solve To Getting Over the Case of the Ex

Princess Diana would be so proud.

Since Princess Diana‘s 1994 LBD reemergence from the scandal of then husband, King Charles, revenge dressing has become a legitimate way for people navigating the murky waters of heartbreak. TikTok has turned that trend into a “thing,” bringing forth “revenge makeup.”

Amassing over two million views #revengemakeup particularly hits home for me as my true relationship with enhancing my beauty came from heartbreak. The more heartbroken I was, the more lipstick and mascara I applied. Some people are taking to this viral movement to prove a point to their exes, while others are celebrating their inner and outer beauty, which I’m sure Princess Di would want the trend to be centered around. Revenge makeup is about getting beat to the Gods. The glam is editorial, it’s bold it’s unapologetic. Think dramatic cat eyes, fluttery eyelashes, red lips and much bronzer and highlighter. Go big or go home.

Revenge makeup is the best way to “get your lick back” without the lasting ad adverse karma effects of actively seeking revenge. It’s about patting yourself on the back, picking yourself up by the bootstraps, and enjoying your beauty.
