SZA Reflects on Key Differences Between 'SOS' and 'Ctrl'

The singer compares her debut and sophomore albums.

It’s been a few weeks since SZA released her highly anticipated sophomore studio album, SOS, and now she’s reflecting on what sets the new LP apart from her debut album, Ctrl.

SZA took to Twitter to reveal that both albums cover very different but equally important eras in her life. “SOS is me singing about relationships from six years ago,” she wrote. “Ctrl was about relationships from high school and college. Reflection is a part of growth. Reflection is good.”

Though SOS has turned out to be a success, singer-slash-songwriter had her doubts and worries about releasing a follow-up as strong as Ctrl. “I’m hoping it goes well,” she told TMZ back in October, while also revealing that she had recorded at least 100 songs. “Five years worth of material,” she added.

SOS and Ctrl are available on all music streaming platforms. For more, check out her tweet below.
