Byredo Taps bentgablenits for Valentine's Day Release
Featuring a cashmere blanket, silk pouches and more made out of deadstock material.
In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Byredo has joined forces with bentgablenits, a Toronto-based trio that reworks vintage garments, on a sustainably-minded partnership.
Dubbed “Vintage Bloom,” the limited-edition range features handcrafted objects made out of rescued fabrics, tackling the idea of throwaway wrapping. “When I look around my house, I see many objects that have been gifted to me — all of these objects have something in common — there was a thoughtfulness behind them, a sentiment intended to last beyond the initial gift-giving moment,” Byredo’s creative director Ben Gorham shared in a press release. bentgablenits’ Angelo Nitsopoulus added: “We feel that the pursuit of authenticity is a shared value for both our brands. We both strive to create an environment where the individual is celebrated, whether that is through a scent or a piece of cloth, it is about collective memories.”
The release includes Only You, a fabric-covered wooden box that houses Byredo’s popular “Bibliothèque” perfume and candle. The two fragrances are packaged in silk velvet pouches, which are accompanied by a deadstock T-shirt with BGN’s signature embroidery. Elsewhere, the duo has also created Never Alone, a virgin wool and cashmere blanket with purple stitching details throughout.
