Louis Vuitton's Pre-Fall 2022 "Daybreak" Collection Smells Like Teen Spirit
Varsity jackets, three-piece suits and roll-necks designed by Virgil Abloh.
Louis Vuitton‘s Pre-Fall 2022 “Daybreak” collection, designed by the late Virgil Abloh, explores the functional and the radical in a range featuring variations of sportswear and workwear. The Firminy complex built by renowned architect Le Corbusier serves as a backdrop to the capsule, in a lookbook that exemplifies Abloh’s creative philosophy.
The collection features black wool varsity jackets with embossed monogram leather sleeves, bottle green biker jackets encapsulated in leather paneling and white shearling bomber jackets. Relaxed cuts and light materials span stripy blue suits with pin-hook closures and matching black denim jackets with blue contrast pockets. The Karakoram — the zig-zag pattern named after the mountain range — serves as a signature element of the collection, taking form in satin souvenir bombers and tonal jacquards. Elsewhere, matching hoodies and zip cardigans in knitted dégradé make an appearance alongside vibrant mohair monogram cardigans.
The “Daybreak” collection will be available in Louis Vuitton stores in March 2022.
