Doja Cat To Quit Music After The Weeknd's 'After Hours' Tour

“I ain’t gone yet.”

UPDATE (April 1, 2022): While Doja Cat has claimed she is quitting music, the artist still has commitments to honor in the coming months, including going on tour with The Weeknd.

The Planet Her songstress took to Twitter to clarify her plans: “For those who are seeing me at the After Hours tour, I’m not bailing. But me not bailing doesn’t mean my ass isn’t gonna disappear right after.” She continued: “[I] still got sh*t I gotta do and a lot of y’all think cuz I post a f*ckin picture it means I’m not out. Pic doesn’t = music GOOFY.”

In a separate tweet, Doja Cat informed fans that she still has music videos to film and performances to do. “I got content to drop so I’m pooping it out and dippin. I ain’t gone yet,” she said.

UPDATE (March 30, 2022): After apologizing earlier this week for stating she is retiring from music, Doja Cat has confirmed she is, in fact, quitting.

The artist replied to Florida radio station MIX 105.1’s tweet on Tuesday, which read, “Ok so maybe @DojaCat isn’t retiring.” “Yes the f*ck I am,” the songstress reiterated.

Last week, Doja Cat shared on Twitter that she has plans to quit music. “I f*ckin quit. I can’t wait to f*cking disappear and I don’t need you to believe in me anymore. Everything is dead to me; music is dead, and I’m a f*cking fool forever thinking I was made for this. This is a f*cking nightmare. Unfollow me.” Her statement stemmed from her canceled Asunciónico festival set, which was followed by fans calling her out for not posting about her time in Paraguay.

ORIGINAL STORY (March 28, 2022): Last week, Doja Cat announced she’s quitting music after facing backlash from Paraguayan fans. Following the online drama, the Planet Her singer took to Twitter to issue an apology.

The artist retweeted her “don’t ask me for sh*t” post with, “This is an example of me not reciprocating all the sh*t that’s been given to me. This was two hours ago. Don’t forget it but don’t take it to heart because it doesn’t benefit you or anybody else. Please don’t hesitate to ask me for sh*t because I love you.” She also quoted her previous “I’m not sorry” tweet with, “I am.”

In addition, the songstress explained that she does in fact “owe people sh*t” in a series of other tweets. “I can learn about the world, and I can give back to everyone because of you. I do owe people shit. I owe a lot,” she said. “I didn’t come to another country to do something I can do everywhere else. That would be pointless in a way,” she added. “I came here because I knew there was something new.”

Doja Cat further explained to a fan that they have helped her solve her problems in the past. “My suffering comes from myself. Not everybody else. It’s my problem but you guys always help me solve it when you support me the way you’ve been,” she expressed.
