Louis Vuitton Debuts 2 New Women's Sneakers
Including a must-have mule.
Soft suiting, exaggerated shoulders and graphic knits took over the Louis Vuitton Fall 2022 runway. At times the presentation’s approach to layering, pairing larger-than-life blazers over shift dresses, felt very reminiscent of the 1980s, when women in the workplace skyrocketed in the United States.
It was an experimental time in fashion when women used fashion strategically to express their professional aspirations. Iconic imagery of the time show women on their way to work wearing sneakers, heels in hand. A stark departure from the romanticism of the 1970s, women were seeking comfort and to be taken seriously.
LV’s footwear echoes the period, with chunky loafers and timeless hightop sneaker silhouettes. The collection also included a sneaker mule decked out in suede with LV monogram patches. Take a look at our runway favorites in the gallery above.
