Sydney Sweeney and Alexa Demie Are in the Running To Play Madonna
Along with Julia Garner, Florence Pugh, Odessa Young and Emma Laird.
The search for who will play Madonna in her upcoming biopic is on. According to The Hollywood Reporter, casting director Carmen Cuba has revealed that a select few are undergoing a “Madonna bootcamp.”
Euphoria stars Alexa Demie and Sydney Sweeney are in the running to play the Queen of Pop, as well as Inventing Anna‘s Julia Garner. Black Widow‘s Florence Pugh, Australian actor Odessa Young and newcomer Emma Laird are also part of the shortlist. Artists in the music industry have also been taken into consideration, including Bebe Rexha and Sky Ferreira.
The ongoing auditions are described as “grueling” by one rep. As per other sources, the talents go through “intense” choreography classes with the “Material Girl” singer’s choreographer, followed by sessions with Madonna herself. Additionally, the actors are required to go through readings and singing auditions with Madonna. “You have to be able to do everything,” an insider said.
