Rosalía Returns With Her First Album in 4 Years, 'MOTOMAMI'
The artist admitted this was the hardest record she’s ever made.
Rosalía has finally released her third studio album, MOTOMAMI. The Spanish singer’s latest record took two years to produce, which she also admits was one of the hardest albums she’s made.
In an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Rosalía discusses her growth as a producer and writer. “I had to spend a lot of time writing by myself at home, being in a room just writing, writing, writing, writing, a lot of time in the studio just with David, pushing, pushing, pushing, trying to find the right sounds, trying to find the right production, the right arrangement,” she explains.
The artist also shares who she enjoyed collaborating with the most on this project — Pharrell. “He uses his voice as an instrument in so many different ways and it’s so beautiful to see him work, it’s inspiring and I learn a lot,” Rosalía says. “Not just because he’s a great writer. He’s a great producer. Also, he’s fun to be around.”
The 16-track record features collaborations with The Weeknd on “LA FAMA” and Tokischa on “LA COMBI VERSACE.” Other than Pharrell’s help, Chad Hugo, James Blake, Frank Dukes and Cory Henry also contributed to the making of this album.
