Men in Corsets Dominate the 2022 Met Gala
Featuring high heels, butt cleavage and everything else that was once considered feminine.
Between men in heels and feminine men’s lingerie, ignoring the boundaries of gendered fashion is now in style. This year’s Met Gala theme was “Gilded Glamour” and we were graced with three looks that opposed the gender binary.
The musician known for his eclectic taste, Lenny Kravitz, wore a lace top ruffled at the collar with a sheer corset layered above. Kravitz paired the sultry top with the once considered feminine item, a choker, and layered it with gold necklaces. The artist did not stop there with the eccentricity, however. He wore high-waisted leather pants that draped over his high-heeled boots.
Gossip Girl reboot actor Evan Mock wore a faint yellow corseted suit with a white undershirt ruffled at the collar. The ruffled collar was held up by a beautiful beaded necklace that complemented his broach. Just when you thought the look was complete, Mock turned around and revealed his butt cleavage.
Lastly, Ben Platt from the hit Netflix show, The Politician, wore the most gender-defying outfit. Platt wore a corseted suit with black pumps and the perfect detail — acrylic nails. Although Platt’s aesthetic for the MET theme was quite tame, he definitely came through with the details.
