String Ting Teams Up with Magda Archer For Y2K-Inspired Phone Straps

With a Kawaii twist.

Cult-favorite tech accessory brand String Ting has unveiled its latest collaboration, tapping widely renowned British artist Magda Archer as its newest creative partner.

Having worked with household names from Marc Jacobs to COMME des GARÇONS, Archer has a penchant for tongue-in-cheek and sentimental art. Coupled with String Ting founder Rachel Steed-Middleton’s playful energy, the latest joint design is an infectiously joyful marriage of their aesthetics.

“It was an honor and a joy to work with Magda on this special Ting. Her creative spirit matches the spirit of String Ting. We’re honored that she entrusted us with her iconic work,” says Steed-Middleton in an exclusive press release.

The newest phone chain is heavily inspired by early aughts nostalgia, referencing the 2000’s era carefree vibe, while the oversized sparkly pink flower charm references soft and sweet Kawaii-core. Nestled inside the larger-than-life floral is Archer’s artwork, featuring the phrase, “Life is Beautiful” in both English and French, nodding to Archer’s French heritage through her grandmother.

“I love what Rachel is doing with String Ting. I was drawn other work ethic, her energy and the Tings brought me back to my childhood and my my attraction to sparkly, precious things. To me the message of “La Vie Belle” is a reminder to not take things for granted,” adds Archer.

Take a look at String Ting x Magda Archer’s collection in the gallery above. The newest handmade phone strap retails for $56 USD and is available on the brand’s website.
