Frank Ocean To Direct His First-Ever Feature Film

An A24 project reportedly referred to as ‘Philly.’

Frank Ocean is reportedly in talks to make his official directorial debut. The “Ivy” singer has apparently teamed up with A24 and 2AM for the upcoming project, which according to sources is internally being referred to as “Philly.”

Main details are still yet to be known; however, Ocean is rumored to be considering New Mexico as a potential film location.

While this would become Ocean’s first film to direct, he has worked with A24 in the past. The musician wrote the foreword for Barry Jenkins‘ Moonlight. He also provided soundtracks for Trey Shelts’ 2019 American drama film Waves.

Additionally, he’s previously expressed his interest in filmmaking when he released his 2016 visual album, Endless. Ocean wrote and directed the visual project.

Stay tuned for more news on Frank Ocean’s directorial debut.
