A Very Barbiecore Dunk Is on the Way

Part of the forthcoming Nike “Hoops” Pack.

As hype continues to build for the Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, the doll’s signature style has entered the cultural zeitgeist. Fans of the trend now have a Nike to emblematize their movement — a Dunk High doused in various shades of pink.

A far cry from the influx of minimal sneakers like the Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe and JJJJound x Reebok NPC II,  the Nike Dunk High “Hoops” starts with a hairy suede base in a pinky-purple hue that sets the stage for a brighter pink on the overlays. An off-white tongue, laces and midsole adds a vintage touch while a black Swoosh brings contrast.

Take a look at the forthcoming drop in the gallery above and stay tuned for release in the coming weeks.

In other footwear news, P.E Nation and ASICS collaborate on two GEL-1130 sneakers.
