The Clit Test was created in 2020 with hopes of fixing a dire issue: the lack of female sexual pleasure in media. In just two years, however, the anonymous creators behind the test believe their work is done.

If you’re not familiar with the genius test, it’s quite simple — although so many shows fail to pass. To pass the test, a sex scene must either mention the clit, allude to it or show it. However, as we’ve previously shared, “surprisingly, trending shows that focus on pleasure like Sex Education have failed this test for the fact that some seasons only include penetration.”

Exactly who is behind the beloved campaign is a mystery. The website reads “just some people with clits who wasted too many years thinking their own pleasure was somehow irrelevant to the business of sex,” and since, they’ve stuck to remaining anonymous.

While we hope their next move is just as iconic as their last, few details have been shared. The Instagram post announcing the end of the campaign reads: “There’s still so much to do to improve sex scenes in pop culture – we especially need to see more trans characters having enjoyable sex and we need better representation of consent.”
