SZA and Chloe Cherry to Star in the Eddie Huang Dramedy ‘Tuna Melt’
The film is being described as ‘Pulp Fiction’ meets ‘High Fidelity.’
SZA and Chloe Cherry are starring together along with Eddie Huang in his upcoming film, Tuna Melt.
Deadline described the project as “an updated Pulp Fiction meets High Fidelity. Huang will lead the darkly comedic feature as a hitman who unexpectedly meets the love of his life soon after he completes a job. This all transpires in the aftermath of a breakup. While SZA will play Huang’s love interest, details as to Cherry’s role are being kept under wraps.”
This is major for SZA considering her first major acting gig will be a lead role. Meanwhile, Cherry’s breakout role was on Euphoria, playing Faye, who was introduced in Season 2.
Tuna Melt will be produced by Scooter Braun and James Shin for SB Projects, while Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett will produce for Ryder Picture Company. Aside from playing one of the leads, Huang will also be producing with Scott Manson serving as executive producer.
Tuna Melt has yet to begin production. Stay tuned for more news on the upcoming film.
