Coach Pulls a Balenciaga With Distressed High Tops
The leather-centric brand has a hit on its hand.
For Spring 2023, Coach combines the maximalism of exaggerated knitwear with sleek leather safari jackets. The latter part of the collection switched gears with collegiate separates and a handful of embroidered babydoll dresses.
As for accessories, Coach leans heavily into wristlets, messenger bags and a litany of distressed sneakers. The silhouette sees a chunky, ’90s build with scuffs cover the upper and tongue. Coach branding completes the look on the shoe’s tongue and lateral panel.
Coach is the latest brand to bring a distressed aesthetic to luxury sneakers, joining Balenciaga, Golden Goose and arguably the recent aged models from Nike and Jordan Brand.
