Tristan Thompson Encouraged Khloé Kardashian To Get an Embryo Transfer Weeks Before Paternity Scandal
The athlete was aware he was having a child with someone else for five months and didn’t tell her.
The Season 2 premiere of The Kardashians primarily focuses on Khloé Kardashian and the aftermath of dealing with Tristan Thompson‘s paternity scandal.
In case you missed it, in the Season 1 finale, Kim Kardashian breaks the news to Khloé that Thompson is having another baby with another woman, who we eventually learn is Maralee Nichols. At the time, no one knew that the Good American founder had done an embryo transfer to welcome a second child with the basketball player.
In the Season 2 premiere, Khloé reveals she was blindsided because Thompson had known Nichols was pregnant since July 2, 2021. Khloé, however, didn’t find out until the first week of December 2021 — weeks after they had done the embryo transfer, which took place around Thanksgiving.
“I was definitely very angry, and I think feeling bamboozled,” Khloe says the episode. “All I know is I was being encouraged to do [the embryo transfer] by a certain date.”
Khloé felt worried people would judge and think she decided to have a second baby with Thompson after knowing he was having a baby with someone else, which is why she clarified that wasn’t the case.
“It’s so close I wouldn’t want anyone to think I did this after the fact,” she said of the dates. “Why would I want to have a baby with someone who’s having a baby with someone else? Because I’m not that much of a sociopath. I’m a lunatic. I’m not deranged.”
Thompson and Nichols’ son, Theo, was born in December 2021, while his son with Khloé was born in July 2022.
The Kardashians is currently streaming on Hulu.
