Jordan Brand Announces Notorious B.I.G. x Air Jordan 13 Auction With Sotheby's

Jordan Brand has teamed up with Sotheby’s for the auction of the year, and we have all the details.
The footwear pioneer is set to hold an exclusive auction for 23 pairs of Notorious B.I.G. x Air Jordan 13s, resurfaced last year in tribute to what would’ve been the artist’s 50th birthday.
Arriving in a fairly understated design, the sneakers feature a faded black upper complete with pockmarked overlays and suede tongues, with matching mudguards and toe boxes. Lyrics like “It was all a dream” appear on the right shoe, with “If you don’t know, now you know,” featuring alongside it, from the rapper’s hit record, “Juicy.”
The shoes also feature Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation branding, with “Dream” spell-outs appearing on the front of the kicks. Elsewhere, the sneakers come complete with black and red plaid insoles, each stamped with “Notorious B” on its heel.
The 23 pairs are now up for bidding on Sotheby’s website until February 3, 2023, with pricing starting at $1 USD. Proceeds from the auction are set to go towards Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation, which works to empower inner-city youth with educational learning tools, grants, mentorship programs and sponsorships.
