Miley Cyrus Left Liam Hemsworth Because There Was "Too Much Conflict"
She’s in her era of peace and self-love.
If you grew up watching Disney Channel and crying over The Last Song, chances are you were as devastated by Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth‘s divorce as we were.
The formerly inseparable couple parted ways in 2019 after ten years together, leading many to consider the reason behind the split as fans initially assumed Cyrus cheated on Hemsworth with Kaitlynn Carter. In December of 2020, Cyrus got vulnerable on The Howard Stern Show, revealing that her marriage ended because “there was too much conflict.” She opened up, “When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone. I don’t get off on drama or fighting.”
The singer recently released her newest single “Flowers,” referencing their seemingly volatile relationship, while declaring 2023 her era of self-love. Lyrics nod to the 2018 house fire Hemsworth and the Tennessee native experienced as she pens, “We were right ’til we weren’t / Built a home and watched it burn.” Previously, in a 2020 Rolling Stone interview, the former Hannah Montana actor admitted that the disaster turned out to be a saving grace in some respects as it “removed [her] from what no longer was serving its purpose.”
Cyrus is apparently more than just fine on her own as she sings in latest track, “I can buy myself flowers/Write my name in the sand/Talk to myself for hours/Yeah, some things you don’t understand/ Yeah, I can love me better than you can.”
Amen.
