Quavo released a new song titled “Without You,” and it’s a heartfelt tribute to the late rapper Takeoff.
The Migos rapper also dropped an accompanying music video, which features him sitting down, reflecting. Quavo raps, “Tears rollin’ down my eyes/ Can’t tell you how many times I cried/ Days ain’t the same without you/ I don’t know if I’m the same without you.”
Takeoff was Quavo’s nephew; however, the pair acted more like best friends. Takeoff died on November 1, 2022, after being gunned down In Houston. Quavo, who was with him that night, took to social media nearly two weeks after Takeoff’s death to share a message about his loss. “This whole time I’ve been trying to figure what you really are to me because nephew wasn’t it,” Quavo shared on Instagram. “We hated that word ‘nephew’ or when they said ‘Unc and Phew’ cuz we always knew we were way closer than that and it made me feel old too. But I knew you weren’t my brother cuz you are my sister’s son, so I couldn’t say brother. Now I finally get it. you are OUR angel.”
