Giddy up With EB Denim's SS23 Collection "Milltown"
Paying homage to the brand’s roots.
Los Angeles-based brand EB Denim is heading out to the countryside for its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, “Milltown.”
Nodding to founder Elena Bonvicini’s hometown in Wisconsin, the curated mélange of clothing reimagines the label’s quintessential cool girl aesthetic with rustic fabric and silhouettes. While the sunny coastal state differs from Bonvicini’s former stomping grounds, they’re united through a collective desire for clothing that stands the test of time.
“My grandmother and cousin taught me the art of thrifting and upcycling vintage denim and those early experiences have stayed with me. The ethos and aesthetics of that time and place are vastly different from my current surroundings, yet the allure of the well-worn, sun-faded and tinted garments still resonates in today’s fashion landscape,” Bonvicini shares with Hypebae.
Waist-cinching corsets crafted from pant legs sit effortlessly alongside oversized moto-inspired jackets and tight-fitting mini dresses. Elsewhere, dramatically cropped outerwear resemble bolero sweaters, but outfitted in sturdier fabric. Jeans arrive in a myriad of shapes and styles, offering a baggy low-rise silhouette, a straight-leg option, as well as a deliciously spacious flared iteration. “In this collection, I sought to juxtapose the rugged, masculine charm of denim with a sophisticated and alluring silhouette, resulting in a unique and compelling fusion of styles,” Elena continues.
“Milltown” is available on EB Denim’s online store in sizes 23 — 40, with prices ranging from $80 — $440 USD. Take a first look at the campaign in the gallery above.
