Kehlani-Approved Artist, Maeta, on Ex "S(EX)" and Red Flags You Can't Miss
From the Roc Nation signee herself.
Roc Nation musician Maeta released her latest single (S)EX written by Kehlani and Ant Clemens, unpacking the perils of ex-sex.
Depending on who you ask, ex-sex doesn’t have to be a red flag. But Maeta’s latest single “paints the picture of two ex-lovers that know they are no longer good for one another, but their sexual chemistry keeps pulling them back together into a tangled web,” the exclusive press release revealed.
The lyrics, paired with her sultry voice and seductive rifts, soothe the listener as they revel in the memories of love — so much so, you almost forget you’re contemplating toxic ex-sex. “Came right back to the sex / Fell right back in the wet,” Maeta sings. “Did all that, now it’s back on track / ‘Cause you can’t spell sex without ex // Can’t spell sex without ex / Ex just might be my next / Did all that just to run right back / Can’t spell sex without ex.”
