Bottega Veneta's New Fanzine Is a Shrine to Kate Moss
Celebrating Matthieu Blazy’s longstanding adoration for the iconic supermodel.
Matthieu Blazy has been a fan of Kate Moss ever since he discovered the internet. It makes sense then, that during his reign at Bottega Veneta, the brand would have to commemorate the iconic supermodel in some form, and that day has finally come.
Arriving in the form of a dedicated fanzine and joining the brand’s existing Summer 2023 book line-up, Veneta’s latest venture combines collages and images from Blazy’s teenage years, celebrating his “longstanding adoration of Kate Moss.”
“Kate Moss was my first Google search,” explains creative director Matthieu Blazy. “She’s the first photo to be printed on the family printer. Whenever I hear a modem, I think of Kate, because I mainly looked for her pictures as a teenager. It’s a sound I will forever relate to her. She became a personal icon,” he continued.
Opening up about the process behind the zine, Blazy added “It was, for me, a very serious teenage activity that became an everyday term at home. If I was doing my ‘Kate Moss,’ it meant I was in the middle of collecting pictures. This hobby became a sort of education. This fanzine is a tribute to Kate and the pages of a binder that defined my coming of age. She was my first.”
