Daniel Radcliffe Welcomes Baby No. 1 With Longtime Girlfriend Erin Darke
The couple was also photographed with their child for the first time.
Daniel Radcliffe is officially a dad. The Harry Potter alum welcomed his first child with longtime girlfriend Erin Darke. Additionally, the couple made their first appearance as newly minted parents; they were photographed going for a walk in New York City with a baby stroller.
Radcliffe and Darke, who met at the set of Kill Your Darlings in 2012, revealed they were expecting their first child in March. At the time, Radcliffe’s spokesperson announced that he and his girlfriend were “absolutely thrilled” about the new addition to their family.
In the past, Radcliffe has revealed he will encourage a creative environment for his future children.
“I want my kids, if and when they exist … I would love them to be around film sets,” Radcliffe told Newsweek in October 2022. “A dream would be for them to come onto a film set and be like ‘God, you know, I’d love to be in the art department. I’d love to be something in the crew.’ Some part of this, but not from that.”
He continued, “I think if you can get a situation where you’re on film sets without necessarily [thinking] ‘oh, this is gonna be a big deal in your life,’ that’s great.
The actor added, “Film sets are wonderful places. I think a lot of the time it can be wonderful for kids. But it’s really the fame side of it that should be avoided at all costs.”
