Get Set for Summer With Givenchy's New "Plage" Capsule

From the city to the sand.

Givenchy is here to get you set for summer thanks to its all-new “Plage” capsule collection.

Comprising ready-to-wear and accessories, the beachwear collection draws inspiration from Hubert de Givenchy’s seaside estate in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, offering a contemporary take on House classics. Designed to take you from “city to sand,” the capsule combines essential accessories with seasonal updates, including tote shoppers, wedges and basket bags.

“The light is different in the South of France: Monsieur de Givenchy loved Le Clos Fiorentina for its protected, natural beauty and a relaxed elegance that was a world away from his busy life in Paris. For Givenchy Plage, I wanted to explore that lifestyle through light and color, especially the pearly pink façades that are so typical of that region,” explains creative director Matthew M. Williams, in a press release.

Seamlessly blending the laidback lifestyle of the French Riviera with Williams’ sunny Californian roots, the collection exudes a playful, relaxed energy that draws from the brand’s rich archives of swimwear designs. Revisiting prints from 1955, the collection revives Trompe l’oeil pearls and ID necklace prints across kaftans, sarongs and handbags, interspersed with knitted bikinis, sandy beige cover-ups and raffia tote bags.

Arriving in a chic monochromatic color palette of black and white, the collection spotlights accessories and footwear, merging materials of mesh, linen and canvas to create an effortless summer feel. Standout pieces include the brand’s signature G-Totes, paired with 4G sneakers, Voyou Basket Bags and the classic Marshmallow Wedges in glossy rubber. The collection also features variations on the House’s 4G Plumetis jewelry line, comprising bio-resin bracelets, earrings and rings.

The new collection also sees the debut of Givenchy’s added production transparency, arriving in the form of QR codes on clothing tags which detail supply chain and product care information.
