Natasha Zinko's Resort 2024 Delivered a Symphony of Fluid Shapes

The London-based, Ukrainian designer reinterprets Herculean bodies.

Following her Fall/Winter 2023 collection, which encouraged women to embrace their inner monsters, Natasha Zinko returned with a Resort 2024 presentation that took her love of finding beauty in the grotesque a step further.

The London-based, Ukrainian designer skillfully accentuates the human body through padding, bulking and streamlined shapes, creating an intriguing sense of fluidity. A master of trompe-l’oeil, Zinko knows how to exude femininity from the brute, effortlessly blurring the boundaries. From striped tanks that delicately hug the body to dresses and broad-shouldered jackets adorned with faux six-packs, the lineup offered a perfect combination of tailored silhouettes and relaxed staples. Naked body graphics, shadowed in brown across pink ensembles, gracefully flowed, paying homage to the natural contours of the human form.

Additionally, pieces from past collections are thoughtfully sliced, repurposed and reborn as a hoodie and a wide skirt, seamlessly adding to the collection’s fluidity. Of course, the signature Zinko touch is present in the random details scattered throughout, such as bags made from leather underwear, green bunnies, metallic flowers, football jerseys and houndstooth patterns. Why, you might ask? According to the designer, “The ‘R’ in ‘RS24’ does not stand for ‘Resort’; it stands for ‘Random,’ and the ‘S’ is connected to the inappropriate brown graphics.”
