British artist and designer Samuel Ross has made a significant impact in the industry, gaining recognition for his successful label A-COLD-WALL* and acclaimed consultancy firm SR_A. Hence, it comes as no surprise that he has joined Beats as its first-ever Principal Design Consultant.

With his industrial design studio, SR_A, Ross will shape the brand’s industrial design strategy, focusing on new products and packaging. The emphasis will be on incorporating sustainable materials, premium finishes and thoughtful color selection to enhance the overall product experience for Beats’ consumers.

In 2021, Ross collaborated with Beats on the highly sought-after Studio3 Wireless design, which achieved global sellout, marking the start of a unique partnership. As the Principal Design Consultant, Ross brings a fresh, global perspective to Beats, infusing the brand with innovation and artistic sensibility.

Ross expressed his excitement about the new role, stating: “It’s an honor to join Beats as the first Principal Design Consultant. Beats is a technology brand with a legacy deeply rooted in culture and the future. Together, we aim to further develop the design language, explore material experimentation and enhance the brand’s character. Our vision will blend wearability, style and functionality, representing the intersection of expression and practicality.”

As we await further details, keep an eye on this space for more updates.
