Tory Burch and Humberto Leon Collaborate on New Concept Store
Featuring the works of animal photographer Walter Schels in Los Angeles.
Inspired by a playful cat-and-mouse chase, Tory Burch and Humberto Leon join forces with animal photographer Walter Schels to launch a concept store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. From the exteriors of the building to the specially designed capsule collection, all elements of the store lend themselves to an immersive experience for visitors.
Dotting the outside of the store is a repeating mouse image, that bleeds itself into a cat, mid-meow, plastered across the interiors of the store. These animals appear again as abstract portraits in a specially created capsule collection for the store, featuring sweatshirts, totes and T-shirts.
The store will also house the first release of Tory Burch’s Resort 2024 collection which includes the Goddess mini, Hoop dress, and Pierced wedge. By displaying the capsule collection and Resort collection together, Leon and Burch hope the playfulness of the store transcends into visitors’ approach to fashion.
“We’re proposing different ways of wearing and styling clothing, making everything less precious, mixing runway with, for example, fleece… Your concert T-shirt you got when you were 18 is as valuable as the latest runway piece,” Leon says in a press release.
You can visit the store at 8483 Melrose Avenue until the end of the year.
