Tory Burch SS27 Was a Masterclass in Color Combinations

Building the seasonal wardrobe of our dreams.

For Spring/Summer 2027, Tory Burch staged a vibrant masterclass in personal style at the Isamu Noguchi Sunken Garden, bringing opulent femininity into a direct dialogue with American pragmatism. Inspired by the collector’s eye and the psychology of how women pull an outfit together, the collection celebrated beauty, utility and the joy and humor of getting dressed.

Classic silhouettes were given a playful twist as soft knitwear, hip-slung skirts, drawstring trousers and patch-pocket shirts served as structural canvases for rich textures and unexpected color combos. Opera coats took on the relaxed ease of a favorite trench coat, while sharp tailoring was gently pushed off-kilter. Fabrications played with juxtaposition: menswear wools were lightened with silk, paper cotton was washed and tie-dyed and chenille mimicked beachy terrycloth alongside liquid-glazed crepe de chine. A bright, seasonal palette of coral, turquoise, mint and butter yellow popped against rich, deep browns and neutrals.

The details delivered maximum drama, from metallic embroidery and tufted feather scarves to paper bag-inspired Lee Radziwill shoppers, soft shoulder bags and handwoven basket totes created with Marasim artisans. Finished with draped peep-toe pumps, mother-of-pearl thong sandals, brass sphere necklaces and sporty safety goggles, Tory Burch brought individuality back to New York luxury this season.

Familiar faces walked the color-blocked runway, from Alexa Chung to Emily Ratajkowski, soundtracked to songs by Enya, The Motels, The Reels, Massive Attack and more.

Elsewhere in the city, Tommy Hilfiger took over The Plaza Hotel.
