Meet NuNorm, The Brand Making Makeup For Men

Smashing the stereotype that makeup is only for women.

NuNorm is a makeup line that was created specifically for men to “defy the stereotype that makeup is exclusive to women.” It’s founder, Jeff Lau, was inspired to create the brand by his son, whom he’d watch play in nail polish and makeup with his daughter. Seeing his son’s “carefree attitude” towards wearing makeup proved to be pivotal, inspiring Lau to create a cosmetics line with men in mind and, he hopes, change the conversation around masculinity and makeup.

The line consists of five products: a tinted moisturizer, a complexion stick, a brow pencil, blotting and setting powder and a makeup brush. NuNorm’s star product is its “Quick Cover” complexion stick, which comes in 17 shades with buildable coverage and a matte finish. It can be used on both the face and body to conceal blemishes and even-out any discoloration. The concealer is best used on clean, moisturized skin and can be applied with a sponge, brush or your fingers. For a skin-like finish, the brand recommends applying the product directly to the skin, avoiding facial hair.

As with any concealer to brighten the face, it’s recommended to use a shade that’s one or two hues lighter than your complexion. To add depth to the face, use a concealer that’s one or two shades darker than your skin tone. The products are formulated to address common skincare concerns for men like acne, redness, enlarged pores, patchy facial hair and dry skin.

NuNorm’s “Quick Cover” complexion stick can be purchased on the brand’s website for $40 USD.
