COS Brings Quiet Luxury to New York Fashion Week

With Amelia Gray walking the runway.

COS returned to New York Fashion Week this season, presenting its Fall/Winter 2024 mainline collection alongside COS ATELIER. Blending elegance with contemporary design, the collection exemplified COS’ commitment to craftsmanship.

Taking place in an industrial warehouse which meant that guests arrived by boat, this season marked a pivotal moment for the brand, debuting the FW24 ATELIER collection and returning to New York. An impressive roster of celebrity guests filled the FROW, while it-girl Amelia Gray walked the runway.

Read on for Hypebae’s review of COS FW24.

WHERE: The show took place at the Brooklyn Navy Yard — very industrial, edgy and sexy. The show was held in a warehouse, where the runway was designed like a maze that had tall walls constructed that allowed models to weave in and out. Several guests arrived by boat, already promising an unusual experience in what was to come.

WHO: Chloe Sevigny, Emma Roberts, Em Rata and Issa Rae attended the show, while fashion’s favorite it-girl Amelia Gray walked the runway in a sculptural sheer dress.

SEE: A muted color palette of black, grey and blue characterized the collection, focusing almost entirely on premium quality materials, impressive sculptural shapes and classic silhouettes with a twist.

TOUCH: This season’s offering favored a contrasting mix of hard and soft fabrics, fusing sheer materials with heavy leather and soft suede with metal. A constant juxtaposition between flow and structure, FW24 was built on contrasting textures.

HEAR: The showcase was soundtracked by intense classical music, cultivating a very cinematic atmosphere that almost left guests a little anxious by the end.

TASTE: COS FW24 confirmed that less is more, bringing back a sense of quiet luxury through monochrome looks and classic fabrications.
