Vivienne Westwood Went for "Princess Diana in Saint Tropez" at PFW SS25
Beauty legends Isamaya Ffrench, Sam McKnight and Mei Kawajiri were up for the challenge.
Vivienne Westwood, the boundary-pushing British fashion brand, set aside punk motifs for sheer dresses and oversized suits at its Spring/Summer 2025 show. Andres Kronthaler tapped three beauty industry legends for the Paris Fashion Week showcase — Isamaya Ffrench to perfect the makeup, Sam McKnight to craft the dreamiest hair and Mei Kawajiri to bedazzle the nails.
“The look today is ‘Princess Diana in Saint Tropez.’ It’s very healthy, overly-bronzed cheeks, highlights, quite natural — just like you’ve been at the beach all day,” Ffrench told Hypebae backstage.
Teaming up with MAC Cosmetics, the makeup artist used a very sheer foundation on the skin, placing bronzer all over the face and the cheekbones to fake the look of a summer tan. The eye makeup was very subtle — using just a hint of mascara.

As for hair, McKnight and Dyson Beauty partnered up to deliver the classic Vivienne Westwood feel with a larger-than-life, ’80s twist. The hair was parted and pinned at the ear, adding teased volume near the crown of the head.
For the second look, some models had their hair down either waved or worn naturally. Dubbing it the “blowout flick” on Instagram, the hairstylist used his namesake brand’s Superlift Root Volumizing Spray, Modern Hairspray and Cool Girl Barely There Texture Mist.
With just a few hours to paint the nails of 40 models, Kawajiri put 600 Swarovski stones onto nails and toes, delivering a sparkling application that shimmered on and off the runway.
