David Koma's First Blumarine Collection Is Finally Here

And it’s a beauty.

Since David Koma was appointed Blumarine‘s new creative director in July 2024, all eyes have been on the London-based designer to see how his unique vision would transform the brand. At long last, we have our answer. Launching a new Fall/Winter 2025 pre-collection, Koma’s Blumarine begins with an appreciation of Milanese street style.

Koma carefully considers the feminine wardrobe, examining its effortlessness, boldness, and sensuality. Using the concept of “everyday elevation,” the new collection seeks to reinvent classic staples with glamorous twists. Fur-trimmed cardigans, plush knitted jackets and shearling collars exemplify this shift, along with merino wool twinsets and furry accents on outerwear.

As a whole, the collection favors furry textures, in a nod to the pets who take over the streets of Milan. This love of animals is further expressed through leopard prints, puppy and kitten motifs on T-shirts and knickers, plus slogans like “Woof” and “Miaou” appearing on classic tees. Extending into the accessories, these same slogans appear on pendants and cat-eye jewels, along with leopard print cow hair stiletto boots and boudoir heels. The collection also features pet accessories, including a leather wrist waste-bag holder and studded collars and leads.

Elsewhere, Koma’s vision unpacks a fashion-forward version of code-switching, juxtaposing certain categories with unsuspecting details. Examples include sporty scuba versions of LBDs, comfy knitted cocktail dresses and workwear suits made of distressed denim and dripping in silver charms.

As with all new creative directors, the first collection is a bountiful blend of House codes and signatures, while allowing for a refreshing injection of newness and innovation. Leaning into Koma’s own memories of Milan and its distinctive street style, the collection infuses his signature glamor with Blumarine’s rich archive.
