Han Kjobenhavn FW25 Was All About the Shoulders
Influenced by artistic director Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen’s Danish upbringing.
Han Kjøbenhavn was the penultimate showcase of this season at Copenhagen Fashion Week and staying true to its dramatic roots, Fall/Winter 2025 gave us plenty to think about. Titled “Concrete Born,” the brand’s FW25 offering took inspiration from the raw beauty of urban landscapes, along with the “resilient spirit of those who inhabit them.”
Visually, the collection felt like an aesthetic cocktail inspired by the likes of Rick Owens, Balenciaga and Natasha Zinko, presenting oversized boots, shrunken knitwear and exaggerated shoulder pads. Set amidst the brutalist backdrop of the city, the showcase was held at Copenhagen’s TAP1 venue — a space that holds over 4,000 people on a regular basis.
For artistic director, Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen, this collection was an opportunity to look back at his suburban upbringing, exploring the influence his childhood environment has had on his creativity. “This collection takes off in my upbringing while it merges my current state of mind, where my head and my emotions are now,” said Davidsen. “It reflects the spirit of the people who thrive there. Looking at society today and where we are as humans, it’s important to me that I create something that connects and resonates with my upbringing,” he adds.
This season tapped into the wintery aesthetic through faux furs and tactile dresses, along with featuring retro football merchandise sponsored by personal relations. Aiming to showcase a sense of community and connection, the collection posited an inclusive approach to design.
