Not Stressed and Half-Dressed, Meet Fashion's New Runway Obsession

According to SS26 runways, the bra is back but not as you know it…

The Spring/Summer 2026 season is well and truly underway and with that comes a slew of new trends to keep an eye out for. We’ve already spotted crazy ties, sculptural silhouettes and clashing colors on the streets of Copenhagen, London and Milan and now, another common theme is beginning to emerge.

Seeing bras as tops on the runway is nothing new, of course, but this season, a few designers seemed to focus on the process of getting ready in a way that we’ve not seen before. Presenting a sort of undone approach to dressing, SS26 collections showcased bras as an unfinished part of a look, peeking behind unbuttoned shirts and half-on jumpers.

First spotted in Milan courtesy of The Attico and Prada, we then saw the trend appear in Paris, particularly during Julie Kegel‘s “Quick Change” showcase.

Scroll down to see the best examples of Undone Dressing below, and stay tuned as we continue through Paris Fashion Week.

The Attico

The Attico‘s SS26 showcase was a masterclass in clashing colors and finding the perfect pop of pink. What the collection also proved, though, is that bras are absolutely back. Despite our love affair with sheer clothing very much ongoing still, it seems bras are slowly coming back into the fold as statement pieces instead of supportive pieces (depending on your chest size, of course…) Worn underneath layers of unbuttoned shirts and blazers, the final looks felt somewhat intentionally unfinished and undone.

Prada

Where The Attico brought bras all the way back, Prada sort of stopped halfway. Leaning into the art of the undone, it appeared that the bra tops used in the collection were strategically placed over the chest area, as opposed to fully fitted and fastened. Again, it’s a styling trend that appears only viable for the smaller-chested among us, but still suggests a more casual approach to clothing favoring slouchy silhouettes half undone.

Julie Kegels

Not a far cry from AVAVAV’s SS24 showcase, where models got dressed during their catwalk, Kegels’ offering showcased models undoing tops, carrying clothes in bags and donning half-worn jumpers and dresses as they walked on by. Perhaps a wider commentary on the increasingly busy lives we lead, and how ridiculously time-poor we’re all becoming…

Acne Studios

models, milan, paris, runway, bras, sheer tops, half dressed, jumpers, asymmetric Acne Studios seemed to — consciously or not — opt into the “undone dressing” trend with its SS26 collection, albeit in a slightly different way. Moving away from the hypersexualized sheer dressing and visible bras and instead, focusing on layering garments half on and half off. As a result, the collection featured askew denim jackets, half coats and capes with neck detailing.
