AVAVAV's New adidas Originals Collab Subverts Traditional Sportswear
First teased at Milan Fashion Week.
AVAVAV and adidas Originals first debuted their sports-inspired collaboration during AVAVAV’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway show at Milan Fashion Week and now, the duo is back with the official release. Taking inspiration from adidas’ sporting heritage and flipping it on its head, the new offering subverts traditional sportswear codes through the distinctive lens of Beate Karlsson.
Known for its unique sense of humor and surrealist visuals, AVAVAV’s personality shines through the collaboration, which features a range of sporty apparel and footwear. Favoring shredded fabrics and washed-out hues, the collection is crafted with deconstructed fabrics in a bid to revitalize and reimagine adidas’ classic Three Stripe motif.
The standout silhouette is undoubtedly the Moonrubber Megaride, blending a ’90s running silhouette with a futuristic design. Completing the footwear offering is the AVAVAV Superstar, reimagined with a sculpted sole and toe-cap that takes inspiration from the anatomy of the human foot.
To celebrate the launch of the collaboration, adidas Originals and AVAVAV tapped photographer Lennart Madou to capture the campaign, starring champion basketball player Kahleah Copper, pioneering skateboarder Marcos Montoya and tennis star Maria Sakkari.
