Badmómzjay and Mel Put Style in Motion with Nike Air Max DN8

Check out the futuristic Zalando campaign celebrating fashion, friendship, and bold expression.

In a new Zalando campaign, German artist Badmómzjay goes in front of the lens with her best friend and DJ Mel Olori to put a unique spin on Nike’s latest silhouette: the Air Max DN8.

Drawing inspiration from the sneaker’s bold aesthetic, composed of a slash-patterned body, streamlined toebox, and eight-tubed “Dynamic Air” sole unit, the campaign captures the duo in eight experimental looks. The outfits, remixed by Peggy Gou-approved stylist Lorena Maza, include a mix of classic track pieces layered with corsets, camouflage pants, and tiered skirts, underscoring how the traditionally male-centric Air Max can be restyled for women.

“Mel has inspired me in so many ways. Anyone who knows me can see it. I carry a piece of her with me always,” reflects Badmómzjay on her first campaign with her best friend. “She motivated me to live for my passion, create my art, and embrace my emotional side.” Meanwhile, Mel praises the “Ohne Dich” singer for her “confidence and honesty,” inspiring her to pursue what she loves.

The campaign follows the two friends in action as they create music side-by-side; Badmómzjay is seen performing her songs, and Mel is captured producing new tracks. Powered by the soles of the Air Max DN8, their signature beats paired with their bold yet individual looks come together to express the truest version of themselves beyond the stages they regularly appear on.

Nike and Zalando bring the celebration of fearless fashion to a physical space, taking Berlin on May 15 with a special showcase of eight groundbreaking artists and DJs headlined by Badmómzjay. Open to the public, the event will also include a tooth gem booth, lace customization, and for those wearing Nike, expect exclusive giveaways too.

For more information on the event and to secure your spot, head to Resident Advisor now. The Nike Air Max DN8 is also available to shop via the Zalando’s website for $190 USD.
