ROA Dropped a Gorpcore-Inspired Mary Jane for FW25

Introducing the Loie, combining girly charm with utilitarian function.

Ever dreamt about a hiking shoe that’s also a cute Mary Jane? Well, for Fall/Winter 2025, ROA has made that dream a reality. Meet the Loie, a versatile silhouette that combines the classic Mary Jane charm with the utilitarian functionality of a hiking shoe.

Named after a scenic lake in Italy, the Loie balances fashionable elegance with technical performance that can transition seamlessly from the Alps to the city streets. Designed with a durable calf leather upper and waterproof treatment combined with open mesh to let your feet breathe, the strappy addition means you can customize them to your exact fit. The underfoot features the Vibram XS Trek sole to give you that grippy trekking durability and keep you secure on all terrains. Yes, both slippery subway platforms and uneven mountain paths.

Check out the dreamy campaign above, lensed by Kirstie Muller, for all your Gorpcore fantasies featuring tech-clad models hiking through the hills and the coolest utilitarian style inspo. Pair the shoe with your favorite cargo pants and an Arc’teryx jacket, or alternatively, top them off with a midi skirt and leather bomber for drinks with the girls.

The shoes are now available to purchase via the ROA website, saving you from ever having to pick between sneakers and Mary Janes again.
