Jacquemus References Paloma Picasso for FW26

Presenting the “LE PALMIER” collection in Paris.

Jacquemus returned to the runway for Paris Fashion Week, presenting its Fall/Winter 2026 collection once again at the Picasso Museum. Not long after the brand announced its first-ever ambassador (spoiler: it’s Simon Porte Jacquemus’s grandmother, and it’s amazing), Jacquemus presented the “LE PALMIER” collection, returning to its archives for inspiration.

Reimagining the geometric shapes the brand became known for, the collection reinvents its signature polka prints and stripes, taking its sculptural designs to a whole new level. FW26 saw the return of the fishtail silhouette, reappearing across coats, suits and accessories.

Leaning into the designer’s childhood as much as the brand’s archives, “LE PALMIER” takes inspiration from the palm-tree ponytail worn by his daughter, plus the memories of Jacquemus’s early years spent in Paris. Exploring themes of spontaneity and sculpture, the collection debuts new iterations of the Le Valerie bag, along with elasticated ballet shoes, silk jersey cocktail dresses and structured evening-wear.

Taking inspiration from retro French films and Technicolor television shows, the collection was influenced by 1950s couture shapes and a satirical humor prevalent in the 1980s, fusing supermodel sensuality with a tongue-in-cheek humor. Tactility took center stage this season (as always), with specific looks featuring kinetic feather embroideries, pinched Ostrich feathers and trompe l’oeil organza, along with pompoms, shearling intarsia and rooster feather detailing.

Elsewhere, the collection featured a key reference to French jewelry designer Paloma Picasso, with the closing look a direct reference to an iconic photo of Picasso’s daughter, shot by Helmut Newton back in 1973.

Reimagining the designer’s earliest creations for a new audience, the collection was filled with self-referential pieces, artistic homages and sculpture-like designs, rooted in refined craftsmanship and most importantly: joy.
