The Sandy Liang FW26 Fairtytale Starts in the Bedroom
Complete with bunny slippers and pajamas transformed into party dresses.
Bows, frills and feminine glory, Sandy Liang did what she does best for Fall/Winter 2026. Inspired by Marie Antoinette, the OG muse of all things pastel and lace, the show moved through her palace gardens, barns and bedrooms.
Drawing from the fantastical, Liang saw the beauty in details such as Antionette’s slippers, the Studio Ghibli movie Kiki’s Delivery Service or her grandmother’s apron. This duality of fantasy and reality, or beauty and utility are at the essence of Liang’s work.
The designer celebrated a deliberate undoneness that offered a certain intimacy found only at home. This was regal meets casual. Models graced the catwalk in pieces transformed from the everyday, such as bedspreads refashioned as quilted jackets, or a princess dress designed in a casual jersey. Returning to the theme of home comforts, bunny slippers shuffled alongside ribbon-wrapped heels, while pajamas became party dresses. This collection was a lesson in reconnecting with your favorite things and proving that a little satin and frill can transform even the most ordinary into something extraordinary.
