Jade Cargill Is Bringing Bold Glam to the WWE
We talked to the wrestler about representing women and the huge role makeup plays in her identity as a performer.
WWE champion Jade Cargill is setting the bar high at WrestleMania with a plethora of elevated makeup and hair looks. By merging her affinity for bold glam with her raw athletic talent, the star is not only representing women in and out of the ring, but also pushing the boundaries of the WWE in general.
Costuming is undoubtedly a key part of WWE’s world building — but for Cargill, beauty is just as essential. Thanks to her makeup artist Marandan Renea and hair stylist Shanae Bowles, the actor set the stage at WrestleMania with a desert-inspired look complete with her signature silver hair and a toasty cut crease. Beyond playing into her persona, beauty also gives Cargill the extra boost she needs to perform her best.
Ahead, we speak to Jade Cargill about being a woman in a male-dominate sport and how she makes her makeup outlast sweaty matches.
On Her Passion for Makeup and Hair
Makeup and hair play a major role in my identity in wrestling and my character as Jade Cargill. With WrestleMania, it starts with a theme, and it trickles down from there. Color transcribes feeling. So this season, we were in Vegas, so we thought it was the perfect time to channel me being a sandstorm — and honestly, I’m the type of person that feels good and plays good when I look good.
On Representing Women in the WWE
It means everything. We are in a male-dominated sport, so every time we have an opportunity to shine and show out, we optimize our minutes and make the most out of it. I hope we continue to have more time and get huge moments like this. Right now, the women’s division is taking over by storm. I think we are all excelling when we play these roles and deliver, so it means the whole world.

On Making Her Glam Last
One Size On ‘Til Dawn Setting Spray. We’ve been using One Size a lot. My makeup artist, Marandan [Renea], has been utilizing it, and the makeup has lasted all our matches. We sweat. We literally roll on top of each other, so to make sure our makeup lasts and our lashes stay on is so important. People think foundation is key, but it’s really the finishing touches that make all the difference.
On Her Beauty Nonnegotiable
A non-negotiable is skincare. There is a specific rebalancing face mask by Biologique Recherche. Billie Eilish raves about this mask as well. I use this once a week and I promise you it literally absorbs any excess makeup out of my pores — and don’t forget this is TV makeup — so using this face mask is non-negotiable as it gives me a clean canvas.
