The Devil Wears Havaianas
Flip flops are now Mirana Priestly-approved in this new collaboration.
Perhaps the most unexpected fashion shoe of last year was the flip-flop, specifically from Havaianas. It made its way across celebrity wardrobes, fashion editorials and even onto the red carpet, so it’s no surprise that the brand is fully leaning into its fashion-forward fan base. For Havaianas’ latest move, the label is teaming up with 20th Century Studios for The Devil Wears Prada 2, introducing the “Puffed Family” collection.
The new limited-edition line features four exaggerated styles, the Havaianas Puffed Up, Maxi Puffed, Over Puffed and Luna Puffed in a brave evolution of the signature silhouettes. The pieces explore fresh proportions and constructions, including padded straps, inflated edges and super chunky soles. This is a high-fashion spin on the OG summer shoe.
The supporting campaign is inspired by the cult fashion film, The Devil Wears Prada, and drops in line with the premiere of its sequel. The brilliant tagline? “If it’s not heels, it’s Havaianas,” and we couldn’t agree more. The campaign is set to take over major cities including Rio de Janeiro, Paris, London, Milan and New York City (featuring in Times Square), so keep your eye out.
The Brazilian brand is moving decisively beyond its beachy origins and into the global fashion space. We’re so here for it, and we think Miranda Priestly would be too.
