Marine Serre and Under Armour Just Changed the Sportswear Game
The duo’s first-ever collaboration reworks late-2000s performance gear and brings back the UA Proto Speed II sneaker.
Marine Serre and Under Armour are teaming up for the first time, delivering a collection that blurs the line between performance wear and fashion. The collaboration takes cues from Under Armour’s late-2000s archive, reworking the brand’s signature athletic staples through Serre’s distinctive design lens.
Drawing from her own experience as a former competitive tennis player, Serre transforms classic training essentials into elevated lifestyle pieces. At the core of the collection is Under Armour’s trademark HeatGear fabric, reimagined with sleek silhouettes, clean construction and a sharp black-and-white palette. The range also introduces a custom print that merges Serre’s signature crescent moon motif with Under Armour’s heartbeat logo, appearing across a series of body-hugging, second-skin styles offering that ultra-feminine feel.
Footwear fans also have reason to be excited. The collaboration marks the return of the UA Proto Speed II sneaker, making its comeback for the first time since the late 2000s. Staying true to its original DNA, the silhouette features layered textiles, sculpted leather overlays and co-branded silicone logos placed directly on the toe and vamp.
Serre shared with Hypebae, “The baselayer is where everything begins. It is the second skin, the first layer after the skin, the closest to the body, to movement, to sensation. For this capsule, we wanted to transform something deeply functional into something emotional, precise and sensual.”
The capsule launches June 5 via the Marine Serre website. To celebrate the release, the brands will also host a pop-up in Paris on Rue de Turenne from June 5 to 7, ahead of a wider launch on Under Armour’s website later this summer.
