Vestiaire Collective Unveils Our Next Vintage Fashion Obsessions
From Chanel Classic Flaps to Fendi’s ever-popular Baguette, here are the styles leading the vintage boom.
Our obsession with vintage fashion is still very much on the rise, according to Vestiaire Collective. The resale platform’s annual “Vintage Days” event is returning, and with it comes plenty of data that proves our love affair with vintage is still going strong.
Taking place in-app and on the brand’s website from June 15 to June 21, the sale will feature some of the most sought-after pieces from brands like Fendi, Chanel and Gucci.
According to Vestiaire Collective, searches for archival items have climbed by nearly 19% since January, with the ever-popular Fendi Baguette leading the charge and being named the platform’s most-searched archival bag ever. Next in line is the Chanel Classic Flap, with vintage versions accounting for an impressive 25% of daily transactions for that silhouette.
Based on the platform’s latest data, Chanel has actually surpassed Gucci as the most-searched heritage brand, likely due to the ongoing virality surrounding Matthieu Blazy‘s collections. Elsewhere, Y2K styles are still going strong, with the likes of archival Coach seeing a 61% increase in searches, along with Balenciaga’s City Bag up by 64%.
Overall, it’s safe to say that consumers aren’t just interested in products or trends, but rather the story behind these pieces and the fashion legacy they carry.
